Last updated: 6 June 2026
Our Commitment
Print and Broadcast News Agency ("we", "us", "our", "PABNA") having its registered office at [registered office address], Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, is strongly committed to your right to privacy and to keeping your personal and financial information secure. To earn your trust and confidence, we are fully disclosing our privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, receive, store, disclose, share, and use your personal data when you use the products and/or services we offer through our website and/or software applications (collectively, the "Platform"), or during any interaction with us, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. It applies to the information collected on the PABNA Platform.
We follow this Policy in accordance with applicable law in the regions where we operate. In some cases we may provide additional data privacy notices specific to certain services or regions; those terms are to be read together with this Policy. This Policy should also be read in conjunction with the Terms of Use applicable to the service you are using. All capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Use.
When you provide information to us on a third-party site or platform (for example, via a social media login), the information we collect through those linked third-party sites is covered by this Policy, while the information the third-party site itself collects is subject to that third party's privacy practices. Privacy choices you make on a third-party platform will not apply to our use of information we collect directly. Our Platform may also contain links to sites we do not own or control, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices — we encourage you to read the privacy policies of other sites that may collect your personal information.
User Consent
By using PABNA's services (for example, when you register for an account, purchase a service, enter a contest or promotion, or communicate with us on our Platform), you agree to our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information as described in this Policy. In some cases — particularly if you reside in a country governed by a data protection regulation — we may ask you to provide explicit consent before proceeding. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please do not access the Platform.
If you are a roaming or travelling user who avails PABNA's services across various countries, we will treat your country of registration as your primary country, and the consents obtained at the time of registration will govern the processing of your personal information. The privacy terms applicable under the law of that country at the time of registration will apply to you.
Accessing the Platform through a VPN
You should not access or use the Platform by means of any mechanism or technology that conceals your actual geo-location or provides incorrect details of your location (for example, a virtual private network (VPN)). We will not be responsible or liable for any collection, storage, or processing of your personal information if you use any such mechanism to conceal your actual geo-location.
What Personal Data We Collect
"Personal Data" (or "Personal Information" / "PII") means any information that identifies, whether directly or indirectly, a particular individual — such as name, postal address, email address, and mobile number. When anonymous information is directly or indirectly associated with personal information, the resulting information is also treated as personal information.
"Processing" means a wholly or partly automated operation performed on personal data, including collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, alignment or combination, indexing, sharing, disclosure, dissemination, restriction, erasure, or destruction.
We endeavour to collect only such personal data as is reasonably necessary to perform our services for you. We do not collect personally identifiable information except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
a. General / Registration Data — first name, last name, email address, mobile number, address with PIN code, gender, and preferred language. Certain features (event registrations, campaigns, surveys, quizzes, polls) require this basic contact information.
b. Government Identification Data — data that enables us to identify you, such as Aadhaar card and PAN card details, where required.
c. Authentication Data — username and password.
d. Technical and Network Activity Data — IP address, device ID, hardware model and version, mobile network information, operating system and other online identifiers, browser type, browsing history, search history, access time, pages viewed, URLs clicked, forms submitted, and physical location.
e. Financial Data — bank details such as account name, account number, and cancelled cheque.
f. Employment Details — company name, designation, educational qualifications, and resume.
g. Mobile Device Permissions — when accessing our application on mobile devices, we may request access to:
- Accounts — managing multiple user accounts within the app and for login purposes
- Contacts — sharing articles through the app
- Phone — reading phone state and enabling notifications; a device identifier may be collected to uniquely identify each user
- Camera — uploading images and profile photos, and using the camera within the app
- Microphone — voice-command actions
- Storage — accessing files and folders from within the app
- SMS — sending and receiving verification messages
These permissions may be essential to running the application adequately and can be managed through your device's "settings" option.
You can choose not to give us personal data when we ask for it. If you decide not to, it may restrict our relationship with you and we may be unable to provide certain services.
How We Collect Your Personal Data
Information you provide directly. We may collect personal data when you use or register on the Platform; share or use your social media profile to contact us; enter a contest organised by us; engage with one of our representatives; manage and update your profile; get in touch for support or feedback; attend an online or on-ground event; ask questions about our products or services; or view news, quiz, or poll services on the Platform.
Information you provide voluntarily. If you send us personal correspondence (such as emails or letters), or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities or postings on the Platform, we may collect and store such information. We may also collect additional data when you provide feedback, modify your content or email preferences, respond to surveys, or communicate with us — this may include your name, email, mobile number, and location.
Information we collect automatically. We collect information about you, your interactions with us and our advertising partners, and the devices you use to access our service (computers, mobile devices, tablets, and other viewing devices). This may include:
- Activities on the Platform such as pages viewed, time spent on pages, and search queries
- Your interactions with our email, customer care, and messaging platforms
- Geo-location information through IP addresses
- Device information such as device ID and device model, and other unique identifiers
- Advertising identifiers, such as the IDFA on iOS devices and GAID on Android devices
- Information collected via cookies and similar technologies
About cookies: To improve the responsiveness of the Platform, we may use cookies or similar tools to assign each visitor a unique, random User Identification ("User ID") to understand individual interests. Unless you voluntarily identify yourself (for example, through registration), we would not know who you are even if we assign a cookie to your device. A cookie can only hold information you supply and cannot read data from your hard drive. Our advertisers may assign their own cookies if you click their ads, a process we do not control. For more details, see our Cookie Policy.
Information we collect from other sources. We may receive information about you from publicly accessible sources, marketing vendors, event management agencies, and social media platforms, and we treat it in accordance with this Policy. If you connect a social media account, you share certain personal data with us, which may include your name, email address, photo, list of social media contacts, and any other data you make accessible to us. By way of example:
- Facebook — public information, name, email ID, friend list
- Google — first name, last name, email ID
- Twitter / X — user ID, public information
- WhatsApp — mobile number
Transactional or billing information. When you purchase a subscription, our payment gateway partner may collect your credit/debit card details or other bank account details along with your billing address. This information is stored by the payment gateway partner. PABNA does not process information provided on partner/vendor websites; such information is handled by those partners under their own privacy policies. We may receive a copy of certain information (e.g. transaction IDs and details) solely for reconciliation, validation, refund processing, or complaint resolution, as permitted by local law. We do not capture or store your personal payment information ourselves.
Auto-renewal subscriptions. Subscriptions or paid services may be on auto-renewal mode unless cancelled. You may cancel before the end of the subscription term if you do not wish to auto-renew. In-app purchases are handled by the relevant platform providers.
Inferred information through usage and log data. We may track certain information based on your behaviour on the Platform for internal research on user demographics, devices, interests, and behaviour — compiled and analysed on an aggregated basis — to better understand, protect, and serve our users; evaluate your interest in news, services, offers, subscriptions, and advertisements; and analyse traffic patterns.
Interactive features. Where the Platform allows you to disclose your identity and communicate with other users, your use of such features and any disclosure of personal details is at your sole risk. If you post on social media accounts, message boards, chat rooms, or leave feedback, we collect that information and retain it as necessary to resolve disputes, provide support, and troubleshoot problems as permitted by law. We may retain such information on an aggregated basis to understand market trends, without associating your personal information with these comments or posts during analysis.
Special categories of personal information. This means data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership; genetic data processed to uniquely identify a person; and data concerning physical or mental health. We process such data only where we have your explicit consent for the relevant purpose.
Lawful Basis for Processing
We collect and process personal data only where we have a lawful basis. These bases include:
- Obtaining your explicit consent
- Processing necessary for our legitimate uses / interests to provide you with products and services, such as: enforcing our terms and conditions; ensuring compliance with our legal obligations and obligations towards public authorities; enforcing or defending a legal right or claim; responding to a medical emergency involving a threat to your or another person's life or health; taking measures to ensure safety or provide services during a disaster or breakdown of public order; the prevention, detection, or investigation of a crime, loss prevention, or fraud prevention; or as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.

Please provide explicit consent for this when we collect your data, and you can adjust your choices in your account profile or by writing to us at [dpo@pabna.in].
Any personally identifiable information you make freely available in the public domain (for example, public comments, messages, blogs, or posts on social platforms) is treated as published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Policy. We may use your email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major changes, customer service, and billing).
When You Visit Our Offices
When you visit our offices, we process your personal data in accordance with this Policy. Specific information regarding the use of visitor data and any use of CCTV is provided in the reception area.
Disclosure to Third Parties
General disclosure. We may share your personal data with strategic partners that help us provide or improve our services and marketing. For example, when you purchase and activate a subscription, you authorise us to exchange the information you provide to carry out that service. Personal information is shared only to provide or improve our service and marketing; it is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent.
Recipients of your personal data may include:
- Our related and affiliated companies
- All our employees and contractors, who are required to follow our data protection and security policies
- Advertisers and content partners, often in aggregate form (e.g. "5,000 users clicked on a banner ad")
- Credit-reporting and fraud-checking agencies
- Our professional advisers, including accountants, auditors, and lawyers
- Other telecommunication and information service providers
- Government and regulatory authorities, and other organisations, as required or authorised by law
Some of these recipients may be based outside India. We ensure they use the information only to perform the relevant functions and have adequate procedures to handle your data securely.
Advertising. Information presented to advertisers is usually in the form of aggregated traffic statistics. We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Platform; these companies may use information about your visits to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We do not provide personally identifiable information to third-party advertisers or ad-servers without your consent.
Service providers. We may use third-party processors to administer and process your personal information for the purposes described here (for example, hosting). Use of your information by linked third-party platforms is governed by their own privacy policies, which are beyond our control. Our prior authorisation is required before a service provider may transfer responsibility for processing to a further third party.
We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with partners (such as publishers, advertisers, and developers) — for example, to show trends about general use of our services.
YouTube. Where the Platform uses YouTube API Services to showcase video content, by accepting these terms you also accept the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Promotional offers. We share or disclose your personal information outside the Platform when we have your consent — for example, for SMS and email services such as marketing newsletters, promotions, and offers.
Business transfers. We provide personal data to affiliates and trusted businesses to process on our behalf, under our instructions and appropriate safeguards. In the event of a merger, acquisition, re-organisation, restructuring, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of our business, assets, or stock (including in connection with bankruptcy or similar proceedings), we and our affiliates may share your personal data, wholly or in part, with another business entity.
Legal. We may disclose personally identifiable information if required by law or in the good-faith belief that doing so is necessary to: comply with legal process or the law; protect and defend the rights or property of PABNA, the Platform, or its users; act under exigent circumstances to protect personal safety; or respond to requests from government and law-enforcement agencies. We may share details with third parties (such as auditors or legal advisers) to obtain advice, governed by an agreement that preserves applicable data-protection rights.
We only share your personal data with recipients that maintain an adequate level of data protection through appropriate technical and organisational measures. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Your Controls and Choices
We make good-faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and to correct or amend any personal information found to be inaccurate or deficient, subject to legal retention requirements or legitimate business purposes. We may ask you to identify yourself and the information concerned before processing a request, and we may decline requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardise the privacy of others, or are extremely impractical.
You have the following rights in connection with your personal data:
- Right to access and data portability — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you, the processing activities undertaken, and the identities of those with whom your data has been shared. Where applicable, you may request copies in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and ask us to transmit it to another provider, where technically feasible.
- Right to correction — ask us to correct inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or out-of-date personal data. You can also update some information through your account settings.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data and closure of your account, unless retention is necessary under applicable law or for legitimate business interests (such as fraud prevention).
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal, but opting out will result in cessation of the respective services.
- Right to object to processing — where your data is processed for direct marketing, ask us at any time to stop.
- Right to nominate — in the event of death or incapacity, nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf.
- Right of grievance redressal — raise a grievance or alter your consent choices with our Data Protection Officer.
To exercise any right, write to us at [dpo@pabna.in] using a clear subject line indicating the right (e.g. "Data Access Request", "Data Portability Request", "Data Deletion Request"). We will need to verify your identity and may be unable to process requests if we cannot authenticate you. We provide access and correction free of charge, except where doing so would require disproportionate effort.
We may take 30 days from receipt of a request to complete it. If a request is excessive or requires significant effort, we may extend this by up to 60 days, with prior notice and reasons.
Please note that after you delete your information, residual copies may remain in backup systems for a limited period before being deleted from active servers. Information you have shared publicly (e.g. reviews, forum posts) may remain visible after account closure, though attribution to you will be removed.
Opting out of the sale of information. You are entitled to opt out of any transfer of your data to third parties who would use it for their own purposes. You can do so via the opt-out option at the bottom of the homepage or by emailing dpo@pabna.in to confirm this choice.
Appointing an authorised agent. You may appoint an authorised agent to raise a request on your behalf, provided the agent can submit your consent for the relevant request, by contacting us using the details below.
Non-discrimination. You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
If you do not provide consent. The Platform is, in part, an ad-serving platform, and advertising is core to our business. Permission to use and process your personal information for advertising is essential for us to provide our services; if you do not authorise this, we may be unable to provide our services. Where collection of personal information is mandatory, we will make that clear at the point of collection so you can make an informed decision.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not designed for or directed at persons under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors or permit them to register without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children.
If we learn that we have collected personal data from a minor without verified parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to erase it and notify the parent. We consider it the responsibility of parents to monitor their children's use of our services. If you believe a child under 18 may have provided us their personal data, please contact us at dpo@pabna.in.
Data Transfer, Storage, and Processing Globally
We operate globally and may transfer your personal data to our affiliates or third parties in territories outside India for the purposes described in this Policy, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and provided no restriction is notified by the Government or appropriate authority. Wherever your personal data is transferred, stored, or processed, we take reasonable steps to safeguard its privacy. When using or disclosing personal information transferred from the European Union, we use standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or other means under EU law to ensure adequate safeguards.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
We continuously implement and update administrative, technical, and physical security measures — such as firewalls, data encryption, and information-access controls — to help protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. However, due to the inherent nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that data, during transmission or while stored on our systems, will be entirely safe from intrusion. If you know or believe that your account credentials have been lost, stolen, or compromised, or in case of any actual or suspected unauthorised use of your account, please contact us immediately.
How Long We Keep Your Personal Data
We retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy and as permitted under applicable law, determined on a case-by-case basis. We will delete your personal data when you request us to do so; however, we may archive or retain it where there are statutory retention obligations or where potential legal claims are not yet time-barred. We may also retain certain information for fraud prevention, safety, tax, legal reporting, auditing, and archiving in the public interest or for scientific, historical, or statistical purposes.
Changes to This Policy
This Policy is subject to change from time to time. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify it to ensure compliance with applicable laws ("Updated Terms"). Material changes will be posted on this page and take effect as soon as they are updated. We will notify you of changes that significantly affect your rights, or as required by law. You are responsible for reviewing this Policy regularly. By continuing to use the Platform after Updated Terms are published, you affirm your agreement to them.
